The Instructional Technology Center (ITC) and the Computer Store at the University of Tennessee at Martin will present the seventh annual West Tennessee Technology Symposium from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Thursday in the Boling University Center on the campus of UT Martin. The event is free and open to the public. The symposium will enable attendees to exchange ideas and view model examples of the latest instructional technology. Nationally-recognized computer vendors will also be present to display and demonstrate their best product offerings and showcase their latest technology. Also included in the symposium will be speakers from all over Tennessee. The featured speakers are from other universities across Tennessee, such as UT Knoxville, UT Chattanooga, Austin Peay State University in Clarksville and UT Memphis. The schedule for the symposium can be found at http://www.utm.edu/wtts. All presentations are open to the public. “The symposium gives us the opportunity to engage in a conversation about how to best incorporate technology into how we teach,” said Steve Holt, UT Martin director of the Instructional Technology Center and Web services. “It also gives everyone a chance to hear from some of the leaders around the state of Tennessee who are using technology in higher education in new and creative ways.” For more information, contact the ITC at itc@utm.edu or by telephone at (731) 881-7877.
