Summers to sing
Samburg Baptist Church will hold a Southern gospel concert March 16 at 11 a.m. featuring Makayla Summers.
The public is invited to attend.

Benefit planned
There is going to be a singing benefit for Relay for Life Saturday at 7 p.m. at Woodward’s Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church in the Elbridge/Minnick community. The community and surrounding area are invited to come out and enjoy some great music, a spokesman said. For more information, call 885-4512. The Rev. Deon Barnes is pastor.
‘Messiah’ event slated
Second Baptist Church of Union City will be hosting the “Messiah in the Passover” Sunday night at 6.
This is a wonderful presentation that opens up the Old Testament and gives Christians new insights into the communion service, a spokesman said.
Eugene Ivanov will be leading the service. He was born in Russia into a Jewish family.
He later converted to Christianity and now lives in Jerusalem and serves with Chosen People Ministries.
The Rev. Eddie Mallonee and the congregation at Second Baptist invite the public to attend this special service.
Fellowship singing set
Walnut Log Baptist Church, located on Walnut Log Road, will host a fellowship singing Saturday at 6 p.m. The public is invited to attend.
For more information, call Tim Gantt at 538-2491. The Rev. Eric Burress is pastor.

Bible study meets
Women of the Word Bible Study meets each Saturday from 9:30-11:30 a.m. to engage in a penetrating, practical Bible study. The study is held in a member’s home and is casual and free-flowing.
Women who want a deep, useful understanding of scripture and who would enjoy the companionship of other sisters in Christ are invited to attend and participate.
For more information, call the church office at Union City Cumberland Presbyterian Church at 885-9773.
The Rev. Doy L. Daniels Jr. is pastor.

Pancake breakfast planned
South Fulton United Methodist Church is sponsoring a fundraising pancake breakfast Saturday from 6-10 at the church, which is located at 205 Orchard Drive. The menu will include all-you-can-eat pancakes, sausage and all the trimmings. Donations will be accepted for the congregation’s music ministry.
Easter pageant set
Trace Creek Baptist Church, located at 3577 State Route 131 near Mayfield, Ky., will present “The Promise,” a pageant on the life of Jesus, March 14-15 at 7 p.m., March 22 at 2 and 7 p.m. and Easter Sunday at 6 p.m.
The presentation is a blend of drama and music presented by the adult choir and a support cast.
The program features music by Claire Cloninger, David T. Clydesdale, Sandi Patti, Gloria Gaither, Phill McHugh and others and follows the life of Christ from His birth to His ascension.
There is no admission charge.
For directions to the church or for reserved seating for groups of 25 or more, call the church office at (270) 658-3304 or go online to www.tracecreek.org.

Mowing to begin
Mowing season will officially begin at Terrace Hill Cemetery at Troy March 15.
Everything on the ground needs to be picked up before then, a spokesman said. This includes all pots, vases, stands, shepherd’s staffs and other items.
Cemetery dues can be mailed to Norman’s Cemetery Works, P.O. Box 104, Troy, TN 38260.
For more information, contact Ralph Norman at 538-2637.
