Four Obion County students have been awarded scholarships for the 2008-09 academic year to attend the University of Tennessee at Martin, according to Judy Rayburn, director of admissions. The students include: • Kassie Hughes of South Fulton, daughter of Jere and Patty Hughes of South Fulton, who will be a freshman. She received the Chancellor’s Award. • Alex McDaniel, son of Barry and Rita McDaniel of Union City, who will be a freshman. He received the Leaders-in-Residence Award. • Rachel Roberson, daughter of Frank Roberson of Hornbeak and Kim Roberson, who will be a freshman. She received the Dean’s Scholarship and the Leaders-in-Residence Award. • Jonathan Smith, son of Rob and Penny Smith of South Fulton, who will be a freshman. He received the Dean’s Scholarship.
