THE BEAT GOES ON — South Fulton High School senior Alex Burrow (left) played the bongo drums while junior Anna Seratt read poetry during a “coffee house” recently presented by teacher Greg Barclay’s English II class in the school library. All English II students and any volunteers from other grades who wanted to share original poetry, artwork or music were in attendance. The students snacked on hot chocolate, coffee and cookies. As a special treat, Terrance Moore (not pictured), a student teacher from the University of Tennessee at Martin, did the cabbage patch dance because more than 10 English II students volunteered to read poetry. Among the students who volunteered to participate in the program were Mallory Martin, Kayla Davidson, Katie Bivens, Caleb Turner, J.D. Robinson, Ashlee Tynes, Sarah Gammon, Chelsea Cox, Danesia Pettigrew, Cherissa Vinson, Amber Gay, Jeremy Barmore, Alex Robertson, Kelsey Boyd, Jared Fowler, Tyler Decker, Josh Bennett, Stephen Graves, Brian Norris, Beau Falgout, Sam Curtis, Miss Burrow and Miss Seratt.
