Clean up set at lake
The Messenger. 03.07.08 Geocachers of West Tennessee invite the public to help them keep Reelfoot Lake beautiful. The group will be gathering at the information center at the spillway at 10 a.m. Saturday. Clean-up locations will be assigned at this time and the effort to clean the area of trash will continue until about 12:30 p.m. Because there are several locations that are a part of the Reelfoot Lake State Park, transportation from this meeting point to other areas may be necessary. Trash bags will be provided and some transportation to other park areas will also be available. The event will be held even if the predicted snow falls in the area. Those participating are encouraged to wear the appropriate clothing and to wear work gloves. James Cox, manager at the Reelfoot Lake State Park, has been a great help in planning this event, according to a spokesman, who said he has offered his support in the efforts to maintain a part of the state park at Reelfoot. A Dutch treat luncheon and a short meeting will follow at Lakeview Dining Room at 1.
