POSTERS PLUS — Students at Union City Elementary School whose book fair posters, calling attention to the school’s annual celebration of reading and books, won the recent competition included (front row, left) kindergarten student Caroline Conley, (front row, right) first-grader Shian Moore, (back row) fifth-grader Mariah LeBron, third-grader Edmond Valentine, fifth-grader Diana Sanchez and second-grader Karen Sanchez. Snappy Tomato Pizza owner Richard Moran (front row, center) provided prizes of $20, $15 and $10 for the top three winners in each class. Each student participating also received a coupon for a free child’s buffet at the restaurant in downtown Union City. The theme for the book fair, which resulted in sales of more than $21,000, was “Take a Reading Road Trip.” Posters have been on display at the school.
