To mark anniversary
There will be a gospel singing at New Faith School in Obion Friday at 7 p.m. The singing will feature Higher Praise from Selmer and this will be a kickoff of activities for the anniversary of the church.
Saturday the youth will have ball games and on Sunday morning at 10:30, the service will honor Bishop Lee Cook, the founder of New Faith Church. A noon meal will be served and the afternoon service will be at 2:30. There will be a special message with guest speaker the Rev. Jonathon McGuire and music by Rebecca Mustain and others.
All the activities are open to the public, a spokesman said.

Gospel choir to perform
The University of Tennessee at Martin gospel choir will perform at 3 p.m. April 15 in the Harriet Fulton Theatre of the Fine Arts Building. This event is free and open to the public.

Usher program set
New Hope Freewill Baptist Church, located at 1106 East Vine St. in Union City, will celebrate the congregation’s annual Usher Day program Sunday at 3 p.m.
The guest speaker will be the Rev. Anthony Johnson and he will be joined by special guests, his congregation from Mount Sinai Baptist Church in Oakton, Ky.
The public is invited to attend.

Fellowship Day slated
Church of Christ on Troy Road near Obion is inviting the community to a Fifth Sunday Fellowship Day Sunday at 3 p.m., with Mike McDaniel as the guest speaker.

Fifth Sunday Singing set
Obion Chapel United Meth-odist Church will host the Fifth Sunday Singing celebration Sunday.
Finger foods will be served at 6 and the singing will follow at 7. All singers are invited to be part of the celebration, said the pastor, the Rev. Terry English.

Borders to sing
The Borders family singing group from Union City will be featured at a gospel singing Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Cayce (Ky.) Baptist Church’s Fifth Sunday Singing. The community is invited to attend, a spokesman said.

Coffee bar opens
A new hospitality feature at Union City First Baptist Church includes a coffee bar prior to and following Sunday school.
“This is the only place to get Higher Ground coffee on a Sunday,” a spokesman said, referring to the area’s newest coffee house.
The community is invited to enjoy this time of fellowship and to attend services at the church as well, a spokesman said.
Dr. Matthew Wohlfarth is the pastor.

Anniversary service planned
New Beginning Apostolic Church, located on the corner of Palestine and Middle roads in Fulton, will host an anniversary service Sunday at 10 a.m. The program will include lots of singing and a potluck meal.
The Rev. Brian Goodman, former pastor, will be preaching. Everyone is invited to attend.
“Come and see what Jesus has in store for this service,” a spokesman said.

Family and Friends Day set
Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ, located at 417 Harrison St. in Union City, will celebrate Family and Friends Day Sunday at noon.
“Come and help us lift up the name of the Lord. Everyone is invited to join us in praising God and having a blessed day in Him,” a spokesman said.
The guest speaker will be the Rev. Harry Hayes, pastor of Everfaithful Missionary Baptist Church in Union City.
A meal will be served following the service.
