SF SHINES — Members of the South Fulton High School Beta Club recently traveled to Nashville to compete in the State Beta Convention. The students worked tirelessly for months prior to the competition, according to sponsor Brandi Cantrell. Their hard work paid off with a first-place win in the state scrapbook competition, marking the second consecutive year they have won the contest. The Beta Club will travel to Myrtle Beach, S.C., in June to compete at the national level. Among the members who attended the state event in Nashville were (from left, front row) Reid Barker, Holly McClanahan, Alex Burrow, Brittany Benjamin, Chelsea Cox, Raegan Perry, Mallory Martin, Ashlee Tynes, (middle row) Coltin Harris, Stephen Graves, Durant Wright, Megan White, Alexander McWhirt, J.C. Meadows, Jordan Cherry, Maeghan Eaves, (back row) Brandt Sisson, Corbin Hawks, Audrey Casey, Cherissa Vinson, Danesia Pettigrew, Holden McConnell and Drew Greer. Sponsors of the club are Ms. Cantrell and Tammy Sisson. While in Nashville, the South Fulton students were treated to a meal at the famous Loveless Café. After enjoying fried chicken, barbecue, vegetables and homemade biscuits, they returned to the Gaylord Opryland Hotel for the convention.
