Honored — Skyhawk Marquis Weddle has been named to the 2008 CollegeInsider.com Freshman Mid-Major All-America Team. Weddle, from Union City, was the nation's seventh most productive scorer averaging 17.1 points per game.

Weddle is the nation’s seventh leading freshman scorer. He averaged 17.1 points per game during the 2007-08 season. He was the nation’s 100th leading scorer. He started in 29 games and played in all 33 contests for the Skyhawks this season. He scored a career-high 39 points in a triple overtime victory over Samford in the first round of the Ohio Valley Conference tournament. He also knocked down a career-high nine 3-pointers in the win over Samford.
In the season, Weddle shot 41 percent from the field and 34 percent from 3-point range. He netted 565 points this season, the sixth most points scored in a single season by any UT Martin player.
