Several local students have been awarded scholarships for the 2008-09 academic year to attend the University of Tennessee at Martin.
They include:
• Hillary Atkins, daughter of Loretta Atkins of Kenton, who will be a freshman. She received the Dean’s Scholarship and the Leaders-in-Residence Award.
• Reuben Kendall, son of Jon and Camille Kendall of Troy, who will be a freshman. He received the Chancellor’s Award.
• Sarah Powell, daughter of Dawn and Jason Powell of Union City, who will be a freshman. She received the Chancellor’s Award.
• Gentry Reedy, daughter of Chuck and Maria Reedy of Troy, who will be a freshman. She received the Leaders-in-Residence Award.
