Westview takes advantage of Rebel errors in twin wins | Westview Chargers, Westview High School, Alex Parham, Martin, Tennessee

Home again — Westview's Alex Parham steps on home plate without a tag during the Chargers' 10-5 victory over the visiting Obion County Central Rebels Tuesday afternoon.
The Westview Chargers were the beneficiary of errors in the field by the Obion County Central Rebels in back-to-back wins on Monday and Tuesday afternoons.
The Chargers dumped Obion County 11-4 on Monday at Troy and followed that performance with a 10-5 victory at Martin on Tuesday.
Appearing to have matters well in hand after the third inning on Tuesday, the Westview Chargers weathered a fifth-inning comeback, but put the contest away in the sixth by doubling up on the Obion County Rebels, 10-5.
The game remained scoreless through two innings until the Chargers caught fire in the third and put five runs on the board. The fourth inning produced no runs for either team, but the Rebels answered Westview’s challenge in the fifth inning by scoring five runs of their own to tie the contest.
The home team recovered and took advantage of Rebel errors to put up two more runs at the bottom of the fifth to go ahead, 7-5.
The Rebels knocked on the door again in the sixth inning, but Westview pitcher Bryant Fisher (3-2) slammed shut the Obion County scoring threat. Fisher pitched a complete game seven-inning effort, striking out nine while allowing just two hits and two walks.
At the bottom of the sixth inning, Obion County again did Westview some favors with fielding miscues. Alex Parham made it to first base with one out already in the books. Adam Garner knocked a fly ball into center field that dropped in and advanced Parham to third. With the corners painted, Fisher was given first base on a balk from the Rebels’ hurler, loading the bases. Madison Hughey took advantage of the golden opportunity by belting a triple into center field that just missed clearing the fence and drove in three runs to put the Chargers up 10-5. Hughey was 3-for-4 with four RBI on the day.
To seal the deal, Fisher forced the leadoff batter into grounding out at the top of the seventh and followed the groundout two straight strikeouts to end the contest.
On Monday, a first-inning error by the Rebels set the tone. Westview plated three runs. Westview extended its lead to 5-0 by the middle of the third inning.
Obion County tried to nip away at the Chargers’ lead against Westview starter Bryton Ramsey (2-1). The Rebels plated a lone run in both the third and fourth innings.
The Chargers got one of those runs back in the fifth inning before blowing the game open with a five-spot in the sixth inning on the way to the 11-4 win.
The Chargers rapped out a dozen base hits. Adam Garner and Bryant Fisher were both 3-for-5 at the plate. Christ Fowler was 2-for-4 with two doubles and four RBI. Tyler Turner had a triple and drove in three runs and scored three runs. Alex Parham ripped a double and drove in a run and plated a run with a 1-for-3 outing at the plate.
