REED Center and UT Martin offering women's workshop

The Regional Entrepreneurship and Economic Development Center at the University of Tennessee at Martin is offering a small business workshop for women in small business or those considering starting a small business.
“Opportunities for Women in Small Business” is being sponsored from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday at the REED Center, located at 406 South Lindell St. in Martin.
The workshop will focus on the opportunities for women in the small-business world and women interested in starting a business. Participants will gain newfound motivation and inspiration and obtain valuable business information from guest speakers. Real-world experiences will be shared, as well as the many resources available for business owners.
Sharon Younger, president and founder of Younger & Associates, LLC, and Susan O’Connell, vice president of marketing and business development of Henco Furniture, will share with attendees their experiences as women in the business world.
A panel of small-business resource specialists and owners will educate the group on the many resources available to women-owned businesses. The panel will include Saundra Jackson, senior area manager, Small Business Administration; Sharon Taylor McKinney, enterprise specialist, State of Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development; Russell Toone, counselor, University of Tennessee Procurement Technical Assistance Center; Claire Wade, owner, Claire & Schuster Interiors; and Tracy Crawford, owner, On the Square.
The cost for the workshop is $20, which includes lunch and materials.
