The Obion County Walk of Hope Bass Tournament is set for Saturday at Reelfoot Lake’s Kirby Pocket.
Registration for the event — sponsored by Team Republic Services — will be held from 5-6 a.m., prior to the event, at a cost of $80. The “Big Bass” fee is included. Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third places, as well as for the “Big Bass.”

Team Cathy will be selling fully-cooked Boston butts for $20. Tickets are available from Jennie Kirk at 885-4934 or (731) 446-3138. A fee of $20 is due when the ticket is purchased. Funds will go to Obion County Hometown Walk of Hope.
Pick-up date will be May 23 from 2-6 p.m. at Union City Fire Station No. 2 behind Union City Elementary School on Miles Avenue.

Team Taylor will be selling Boston butts in time for Mother’s Day for $25. Orders must be pre-paid by May 2. Call 536-4580 for more information. The pickup date and location will be May 10 at Troy Church of Christ. Funds raised will go to Obion County Hometown Walk of Hope.

Funds will be raised for Obion County Hometown Walk of Hope at the Wal-Mart Block Party April 25 from 6-10 p.m. on the Union City Wal-Mart parking lot on West Reelfoot Avenue.
The band Old Haul, featuring singer/songwriter Jason Shoulders, will perform and there will be cake walks, concessions, popcorn, face painting and ring toss games.

A yard sale and bake sale will be staged at Union City Wal-Mart parking lot on West Reelfoot Avenue April 26 from 7 a.m.-noon. Early birds cannot be accommodated, a spokesman said.

The Obion County Central High School Key Club will hold a rock-a-thon to benefit Obion County Hometown Walk of Hope Tuesday from 4-9 p.m. at Higher Ground coffee shop in Union City.
Donations will be accepted during the rock-a-thon.
Five teams with five members each will rock throughout the afternoon and evening to raise money to fight cancer.
