Bennett’s Inc. in downtown Union City will host a Walk of Hope fish fry May 30, with serving to take place 4-6 p.m. behind the store. Tickets are $5 and Jim Cawley will be a special guest at the event.
All proceeds will go to Hometown Walk of Hope.
There will be a Carnival for Hope Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Wal-Mart parking lot, with all proceeds going to Hometown Walk of Hope. The event is sponsored by the team at Wal-Mart.
Included in the activities will be games with prizes, hamburgers, hot dogs, sno cones, cotton candy, balloons, photos and more.
The public is invited to participate and benefit the Obion County Cancer Agency through Hometown Walk of Hope.
Cooking and entertaining enthusiast Teresa Vinson will conduct a “lunch ’n’ learn” May 23 in the Tower Conference Room at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City. There are two sessions: 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
In this session called “Let’s Eat,” Mrs. Vinson will share summer cooking, baking and grilling tips. Tickets are $7 each. To reserve a seat, purchase ticket(s) by contacting Kara Ward at 884-8750.

STAR Physical Therapy will host a yard sale beginning at 7 a.m. Saturday at 800 East Reelfoot Ave. in Union City, across the street from E.W. James & Son grocery. There will also be a car wash from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at that site. Funds will go to Hometown Walk of Hope.
