UC council to meet



The Messenger. 02.16.09 Union City’s city council will meet Tuesday in the Municipal Building courtroom at 5:30 p.m. Items on the agenda for that session include amending a zoning ordinance related to business-recreation districts and zoning recently annexed areas in proximity of Discovery Park of America to business-recreation (second and final readings). The council will also consider appointment to various boards and committees; receive reports and recommendations on bids received for the purchase of a tractor and front-end loader for the Parks and Recreation Dept.; receive a report and recommendation on bids for a tractor for the Public Works Department; consider authorizing the acceptance of bids faor the demolition of a vacant residence at 718 Glendale St.; and consider approving contracts with the Tennessee Department of Transportation for resurfacing Exchange Street, Church Street, High Street and Pleasant Valley Avenue. Public meetings are held the first and third Tuesdays of each month. The meetings are open to the public.
