As a team the Skyhawks fired an identical 21-over-par 309 in the final round to finish behind winner North Alabama but nine strokes ahead of third place Tennessee Tech. The 2009 Pizza Hut/AT&T Intercollegiate was a 36-hole stroke play tournament conducted by Jackson State University and was held at the Dancing Rabbit Golf Course in Choctaw, Miss. The 49-player field was made up of nine teams and four participants competing as individuals. The par 72 Dancing Rabbit Golf Course played at a length of 7,118 yards. Stephens again led UT Martin’s consistent effort carding one stroke better than Sunday’s 3-over-par 75, giving him a tournament total of 7-over-par 151. Bradley Stevens moved up the leader board into a tie for sixth place in the individual competition after also carding a final round 3-over-par 75, giving him a two-day total of 9-over-par 153. Cole Floyd, an All-Ohio Valley Conference Team member, continued to struggle in the second round after turning in a second 6-over-par 78 in as many days. The second 78 took his tournament total to 12-over-par 156, leaving him in a tie for 13th position. Brent Webb and Adam Clark finished out their final rounds, struggling to match their opening day performances. Webb ended with at tournament total of 16-over-par 160, while Clark was one stroke back at 17-over-par 161. Individual competitor Barton Hamilton dropped his second round score by six strokes and moved up the individual leader board into a tie for 13th place at 12-over-par 156. The 3-over-par 75 in the second round by Hamilton matched the top round turned in by any member of the Skyhawk squad over the two-day tournament. UT Martin will return to the links when it hosts the Grover Page Classic at Jackson Country Club in Jackson. The Grover Page Classic will feature 17 teams competing over two days and 56 holes, beginning Monday, March 2 and continuing through the conclusion of the final round on Tuesday.
