Lady Jackets learning to love the 8-0 scores



While "I Love the 80s" is a popular television show on VH1, the Greenfield Lady Yellowjackets love the 8-0 score.

The Greenfield girls tennis team won all seven matches by an 8-0 score when it took on the Obion County Central Lady Rebels on Thursday afternoon in Union City.

The girls from Greenfield earned a 7-0 win in easy fashion to make it a season sweep over Obion County.

In singles play, Greenfield's Katie McCall topped Samantha Scott at No. 1.

At No. 2, Mallory Robinson swept Jessica Crackel, while the Lady Jackets' Melissa McCartney won over Kaycee Sanders at No. 3.

Natalie Medling picked up the point for Greenfield at No. 4 when she stopped Lauren Barner. At No. 5, Hannah Rawls beat Allison Reddin.

In doubles play, the GHS tandem of McCall and Robinson continued the 8-0 pattern by defeating Scott and Crackel. At No 2 in doubles, Greenfield's McCartney and Medling tripped Sanders and Kacee Warren.

In order for all the Greenfield girls to see action, Obion County's No. 3, 4 and 5 players took the court against Greenfield's No. 7-9 players.

At No. 6, Greenfield's Haley Perkins took an 8-0 win over Warren. Lady Jacket Taylor Hatcher, playing at No. 7, battled to an 8-4 win over Sanders. Greenfield's No. 9 singles player Hannah Mosley beat Reddin, 8-5.

The lone win for Obion County came at No. 8, where Barner topped Emily Allen, 8-5.
