A Union City man faces a charge of kidnapping after an incident at a night club in Martin turned potentially deadly.
According to an incident report issued by the Martin Police Department, the apparent victim was taken from the 731 Club on Church Street in Martin early Sunday morning by her ex-boyfriend, Joshua Dickey.
Dickey, 22, of North Clover Street in Union City, allegedly forced the victim into the backseat of his car, armed the child safety locks and fled the scene.
According to the report, the victim claimed Dickey drove at a rate of up to 100 miles per hour, swerving from side to side on the road, which caused her to fear for her life.
The victim was able to get out of the car later and made contact with the Union City Police Department.
Dickey was arrested and charged with kidnapping.
