One last time, a trio of Weakley County high school basketball standouts got to don their school colors and represent their alma mater on the hardwood. Westview's B.B. Brooks and Davell Lloyd and Dresden's Erica Glisson were participants in the Golden Circle All-Star Classic Saturday night at Liberty High School in Jackson. In addition to the local talent participating on the court, Dresden High School's head girls basketball coach Jonathan West was invited to help guide the North girls team from the bench. The game brings the best graduating boys and girls seniors together for a battle between the top players in the northern portion of the area versus the standouts from the southern part of the region. A total of 48 schools ranging from Class A up to Class AAA were represented. In the girls game, Brooks and Glisson were teammates after competing against each other in intracounty games the past four seasons. Brooks was playing in a game in a Westview uniform for the first time since suffering a compound fracture of her leg on Dec. 20, 2008. The senior guard did get to dress out with her team and warm up during the Lady Chargers' trip to the state tournament, but was not cleared for full action. Finally back on the court at 100 percent, Brooks did not waste her last appearance as a Lady Charger, pouring in a team-high 12 points, including a pair of 3-pointers, for the North squad in a loss. Glisson contributed 4 points but the South girls built a big early lead, before the North pushed back to finish the half on a run, cutting its deficit to six at 43-37 at halftime. Brooks, who will continue her athletic career with the University of West Georgia basketball team, hit a trey to trim her team's deficit to a point at 51-50, but the South team responded on the way to the 80-66 win. In the boys game, Westview's Lloyd was a member of a North team that raced out to a quick lead, but saw the South squad bounce back and hit crucial free throws in the game's final 90 seconds to win 94-88. Lloyd finished with 11 points.
