Randi K. Walker of Union City has been awarded a Regional Achievement Award to attend Southeast Missouri State University for the 2009-10 academic year.
Miss Walker, a 2007 graduate of Obion County Central High School, is the daughter of Tim and Jeanna Walker of Union City.
She plans to major in athletic training at SEMO.
The Regional Achievement Award is presented to qualified applicants from regionally-accredited high schools and community colleges in designated counties in Arkansas, Illinois, Kentucky and Tennessee.

Lake County native and Dyersburg State Community College alumnus Tim Sneed will give the inside scoop on life as part of the advance team for President Obama during a special presentation at noon Monday at the Learning Resource Center at Dyersburg State Community College.
The cost is $10 per person. Reservations and payment must be made by noon Thursday at the DSCC business office in the Eller Administration Building. For more information, call (731) 286-3349.
Sneed is a 1977 graduate of Lake County High School and a 1979 graduate of Dyersburg State Community College.
In his capacity as a member of President Obama’s advance team, he laid the groundwork for the president’s first foreign trip, spending 13 days in Prague with a team of 21 White House advance members.

Three students from Fulton County, Ky., have been named to the Dean’s List for the summer semester at the University of Tennessee at Martin.
The honorees, listed by hometown, include:
• Fulton — Heather M. Pfleuger, highest honors; and Rachel J. Wynn, highest honors.
• Hickman, Ky. — Daniel C. Naughton, highest honors.
To be eligible for Dean’s List recognition at UT Martin, a student must take at least 12 hours of credit (pass-fail courses are not included) and achieve a 3.2 (B) grade point average based on a 4.0 scale. Students can make the Dean’s List with honors (3.2 through 3.49), high honors (3.5 through 3.79) or highest honors (3.8 through 4.0).
