A course is being offered at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, located at 1303 East Reelfoot Ave. in Union City, for those who are interested in learning more about the Catholic faith. It will begin Wednesday at 7 p.m. and end at 8:30. There is no fee. For more information, call the church office at 885-0963, or James Bowers at 885-7165.
Revival to begin
A revival will open Sunday evening at 5 and continue through Wednesday at 7 week nights at Beech Cumberland Presbyterian Church, located at 880 Beech Chapel Road near Union City. The Rev. James Robert Gunter will be the evangelist.
Dr. Bobby Williams is pastor and he and the congregation invite the community to attend.
To tell amazing story
Carolyn Gatlin of Union City, with the assistance of her son, Steve Gatlin of the Nashville area, will share her amazing true story of a life that appeared to have ended but was miraculously begun again Sunday at 10:30 a.m. at Manna Ministries, located at 4001 Ken-Tenn Highway near Union City.
“Everyone is welcome to attend this faith-building service,” a spokesman said. “Mrs. Gatlin’s heart stopped beating as she was being prepared for surgery and it did not resume until 50 minutes later, after the doctors had given up on her. They say they cannot take credit for her survival.”
The sons of Steve and Katherine Gatlin, who are students at the University of Tennessee at Martin, will also be present and will minister in music.
