Cameron Graham, son of Rob and Vicky Nettles of Union City and a senior at Union City High School, has been selected to participate in a Junior Police Academy course sponsored by the Fulton Police Department.
He was recommended by UCHS teacher Brian Conner.
The course is offered to young men and women considering careers in law enforcement and they must be recommended by a teacher in order to be accepted. So far, there have only been four such programs offered in Kentucky. The course is 12 weeks and closely follows the guidelines of the Kentucky Police Academy, with a field trip to the academy scheduled for the spring and a graduation ceremony to be held in May 2010.
Graham has been accepted for the fall of 2010 to Austin Peay State University to major in homeland security or to the University of Tennessee at Martin to major in criminal justice.
