A Dresden man accused of domestic assault and aggravated child abuse is set to appear in Weakley County General Sessions Court on Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2010 for a preliminary hearing.
Dennis Cunningham was arrested Oct. 6 when Dresden Police officers responded to his home on Ethridge Street for a report of domestic assault.
According to an affidavit, Cunningham and the victim were drinking alcohol when an argument ensued between the pair.
Cunningham allegedly grabbed the victim by her arm and pushed her into the television causing bruises, according to the report.
The victim’s two daughters went into the bathroom of the home where Cunningham is alleged to have thrown a log through the window of the room.
According to the affidavit, the log struck one of the children in the head and glass from the window cut the child’s heel, shin and knee. The child was treated at the scene.
Cunningham was charged with aggravated child abuse, domestic assault and public intoxication in the incident. He appeared in general sessions court last Wednesday. His preliminary hearing is set for 9 a.m. in Weakley County General Sessions Court Wednesday, Jan. 20.
Cunningham is represented by attorney Paul Hutcherson.
He is free on bond.
