The Greenfield Lady Yellow-jackets used a fourth-quarter eruption to edge the Dyersburg Lady Trojans 37-35 in the Sonic Thanksgiving Classic Saturday at Westview High School.
Working in the paint, Emily Randolph scored 10 of her team-high 16 points in the final frame as the Lady  Jackets tallied 18 points in the fourth compared to just 19 points through the first three quarters combined.
Making it a split with Dyers-burg, the Greenfield boys fell behind early and lost 57-46.
In the girls game, turnovers kept both teams from gaining an upper hand in the first half. DHS led 10-5 after a stanza
Then Greenfield tied the score at 10 before Dyersburg put in seven straight. The GHS girls trailed 17-12 at halftime.
DHS opened the second half with heavier pressure, but the Lady Jackets regained their composure. Still, Dyersburg stretched its lead to five, 24-19, heading into the fourth.
Two Katie McCall free throws and a pair of Randolph buckets sandwiched around a Brandi Davis steal and layup cut the GHS deficit to a point, 26-25.
A trey by Rudy Wesley moved DHS back in front, 32-29, with 3:08 left. Randolph and McCall combined to score seven straight as Greenfield moved into the lead and held on to win 37-35.
In the boys game, the Jackets trailed 22-10 after a quarter despite six points by Wes Clark.
A drought lasting 9:16 at the end of the first and into the second quarter allowed Dyersburg to post 15 straight points and enjoy a 37-17 halftime lead.
The Jackets came out red hot in the third quarter, scoring the first 14 of the half. Clark had two old-fashion 3-point plays as the deficit was cut to 37-31.
The Jackets, who split a pair of overtime games earlier in the week, ended the third trailing by double-digits, 45-35, and eventually fell, 57-46
Heath Crouse led GHS with 19 points. Clark added 17.
