Stress Less - accomplise more

“Stress Less – Accomplish More” will be the theme for the annual Dyersburg State Community College Administrative Professionals’ Seminar.  This year’s seminar will be held on Thursday, April 8, 2010, from 8:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the multi-purpose room at the First Christian Church in Dyersburg. The seminar will consist of three morning presentations followed by a luncheon.
Ms. Leah Gray, Director of Human Resources at Jackson State Community College, will present the first session “De-clutter and Organize Your Life to Reduce Stress.”  She is the daughter of the “queen of pack rats” and struggles herself to overcome those same tendencies.  Gray is determined to be organized and will share some of her organizational tips.
The second session being presented by Dyersburg native Dr. Mary Jeanne Holt will be on “Transforming Stress into Positive Opportunities.”  Dr. Holt has a B.S. degree in Nutrition and owns Holt Chiropractic Clinic in Dyersburg. She has studied stress-management and self-help techniques for many years.  Holt will share her thoughts on simple yet strategic ways to deal with stress.
The final morning session will be presented by Dr. Donna Buss, Director of Pharmacy for Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.  She will present “Prescription for Less Stress” and will discuss the pathophysiology of stress and the consequences that stress can have on the body.
A luncheon will follow the morning sessions and the cost is $28 per person or $10 for the luncheon only.  The Division of Continuing Education at Dyersburg State Community College is sponsoring this seminar.  For registration information, call Teresa Adams at 731/288-7815, Teresa Evans at 731/286-3267or Birgit Northcutt at 731/286-3265.
