WHS soccer blanks Covington, battles D’burg to a draw

The WHS Chargers (6-0-1, 1-0) shut out the visiting Covington Chargers, 4-0, in action on Tuesday at the MTD Soccer Complex, before fighting to a 1-1 tie with the host Dyersburg Trojans (5-0-1, 3-0) on Thursday. In the win over Covington, Adam Reinhard continued his scoring onslaught with a pair of goals. Will Sliger tallied on a penalty kick, and Abraham Haddad had the remaining goal. Sliger also had an assist. In the goal for WHS, Scout Edwards had five saves. Against Dyersburg, the defenses controlled the first half, but Westview notched its goal when Haddad scored on a Chase Manley assist for a 1-0 halftime lead. Dyersburg evened the score on a Nic Berry goal. Edwards made eight saves in the game.
