The Gleason Lady Bulldogs’ bats heated up against the host Lady Yellowjackets Wednesday in Greenfield.
Gleason ripped a dozen hits, many of the extra base variety, and took advantage of seven Lady Jacket errors in earning the 15-3 win.
However, Greenfield held a 2-1 lead after an inning. Gleason’s Calay Smith singled and scored on an error. Then in the home half, Greenfield’s Jessica Williams drew a leadoff walk and raced home on Allison Williams’ double. A passed ball allowed Allison Williams to touch home giving Greenfield the 2-1 lead.
The Lady Dawgs regained the lead in the second, plating five runs and padded their advantage with seven run in the fifth.
Gleason roped the ball in the gaps for three doubles and two triples. Briana Jones was 4-for-4, a homer short of the cycle with 3 runs scored and 3 RBI.
Morgan Bodkins scored Greenfield’s third run in the third inning of the loss.
