The Westview Chargers concluded their regular season with a road loss to the Jackson North Side Indians, 3-2, on Thursday and a 1-1 tie with the visiting Haywood Tomcats on Friday. The Chargers will make their 2010 postseason debut in the Region 7 A-AA Soccer Tournament Tuesday when they host Covington. Against the always-tough and talented Indians, Charger junior Abraham Haddad accounted for both WHS goals in the 3-2 loss. A pair of seniors — Chase Manley and Wes Sliger — contributed assists. One night later against Haywood, it was Sliger coming up with the lone Charger goal in the 1-1 tie. Sophomore Sumner Gilliam was credited with the assist on Sliger’s goal. In net for the Chargers, keeper Scout Edwards gathered in five saves.
