Reader praises ‘honest article’
To The Editor:
I am referring to an article that was written on Friday, July 23, by Glenda Caudle, titled, “Determining our free future in the present.”
It was great to read an honest article on how you are viewed of how you disagree with today’s progressive liberal. I honestly believe that most people in this area are of a conservative nature, but are scared to voice their disapproval and be labeled a racist.
I believe that our founding fathers were God-fearing men that were trying to follow God when they wrote the Constitution. Not that they were perfect men, none of us are, today or then. I believe this great nation is great  because of God and the fact that our founding fathers included God in almost  every part of her birth. They prayed in Congress every time Congress met and included, “In God We Trust,” on our currency.
Even to run for office in those early days, you had to make an oath that you believed in God and that Jesus Christ is His only begotten Son.
People need to decide; are we going to be loyal to God and to the Godly principles that our country was founded on, or are we going to be loyal to a political party and all the corruption that goes with it. I believe George Washington warned us of that several hundred years ago. That is why I don’t belong to any political party.

ranting again

To The Editor:
How ironic, (Messenger Special Features Editor) Glenda Caudle starts her most recent “Just a Thought” rant in Friday’s edition by calling everyone that disagrees with her and her conservative agenda a whole host of names. Ungodly servants to politics, rather than servants to our Judeo-Christian heritage. I guess freedom of religion is not a part of our heritage any more.
She claims that the liberals and progressives are calling her names. So, being a servant of God, and not politics, she is well within her right to go on a political diatribe, as she has done, so often in the past.
Using her position as an editor and contributor and messenger from God to try and sway the outcomes of elections. But, she does it in a Godly way, of course, not politically. She’s no political mud slinger. No, all of her whining and belly-aching is sanctioned by God because everyone knows that God is a conservative. That is why we were so blessed by the Bushes for eight years. Look at all the prosperity and peace the Republican conservatives have brought us. It makes you wonder why God allowed the Democrats to even exist, let alone take over the government. Liberals and progressives may think they are Judeo-Christian, but of course, they can’t be because they don’t agree with everything that God and Glenda Caudle believe in. Glenda Caudle must have a very low opinion of her readership. Why doesn’t she just ask her good bud, God, to just brainwash us all into her image? Oh! Maybe she has. I tried to vote for the Democrat, but my hand swerved to the right.
