The University of Tennessee at Martin Office of Extended Campus and Continuing Education has partnered with online course provider Ed2Go to offer a new online course, “Start Your Own Small Business.”
Owning a successful small business is one of the fastest ways to build personal wealth. In fact, all of the top 25 people on the Forbes list of richest Americans amassed their fortunes through the starting of a business.
The challenge is that to succeed, new entrepreneurs need to know proven, time-tested techniques that enable them to start and run their businesses efficiently. And proven techniques are just what students will learn in the new, credit-free online course.
Author of the course, Kris Solie-Johnson, is the chancellor and president of the American Institute of Small Business. She’s also a best-selling author, educator, speaker and an entrepreneur.
“Success leaves clues,” Solie-Johnson said. “What people often don’t realize is that there are some basics to running a successful business-proven methods that have rarely been taught, until now.”
The course includes a classroom that is open day and night. Students can interact with the instructor and their fellow students in Web-based discussion areas, where they can ask as many course-related questions as they’d like. A response is usually promised within one business day and often arrives much sooner. Students can take “Start Your Own Small Business” from the convenience of home or office and at any time of the day or night.
