The Messenger, December 9, 2010 Women to meet “Bells of the Season” is the theme for the Ken-Tenn Women’s Connection luncheon meeting Wednesday at 11 at the Ole West Steakhouse at 943 Main St. in Martin. Felicia Feddleton from Jackson will be sharing some fun and different gift ideas from her “unique boutique,” Felicia Bella’s. Her stores are located in Jackson and Rutherford. “Union City’s Lelia Warner will be sharing her musical abilities as she is our ‘Musical Belle’ for this program,” a spokesman said. “This month’s main speaker travels from Roswell, Ga. Connie Beard will be our featured speaker as she shares her program, ‘How to Handle the Unexpected.’ So come and join us for our last luncheon program of this year. We’ll have a great lunch, get new gift ideas, hear some holiday tunes and learn how to handle things in our lives. Hope to see you there.” The $10 price includes buffet, beverage and tip. To mark anniversary Bells Chapel C.M.E. Church at 207 North Highland Drive in Fulton will celebrate a “Pastoral Anniversary Weekend” marking four years of service Saturday and Sunday. The Saturday service at 7 p.m. will honor “First Lady” Kimberly McKinney and the guest speaker will be co-pastor Pearlie Hardin of Greater Deliverance Ministries in Fulton. Sunday at 3 p.m., the congregation will honor the Rev. Eric McKinney Sr. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Gregg Hussey of New Vision Ministries in Mayfield, Ky. The community is invited to attend.
Christmas program set First Church of God in Hickman, Ky., will celebrate with a Christmas program Sunday at 6 p.m. “Everyone is invited to come and join us in celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,” says a spokesman. Music will be provided by Randy Spillers, Bob Macklin, Donnie Morris, Charlie Spillers and Damon Hodge. Children from the church will be doing a play and singing and refreshments will be served after the program. Santa will also make an appearance.
Musical slated Pleasant Hill Baptist Church on Sublett Road near Rives will present the Christmas musical “Beautiful Star” Sunday at the 10:45 a.m. worship service. The Rev. Mickey Hanks and the congregation invite the community to attend.
Music program planned Mount Zion United Methodist Church’s children’s choir, sanctuary choir and a guest artist from Cayce United Methodist Church in Kentucky will present “A Child Is Born” by Mary McDonald Sunday at 5:30 p.m. The church is located at 5576 Mount Zion Road near Union City. The Rev. Hugh Barksdale is pastor. Choir director is Catherine Roberts and Jane Moore is pianist. They join members of the choirs in inviting the community to attend and promise the arrival of a surprise guest in the fellowship hall at the close of the program.
Special program set Zion United Methodist Church on Zion Church Road near Obion will present an old-fashioned Christmas pageant, “The Birth of Jesus,” featuring the children and youth of the congregation Sunday at 11 a.m. The Rev. Richard Caruth and the congregation invite the community to join them for the special service and for fellowship and refreshments, which will begin at 10:30 a.m. For transportation, call 445-2652.
Musical planned at church The choir and members of the congregation at Rutherford First Baptist Church will present “O Holy Night,” a musical, Sunday at 6 p.m. The community is invited to attend.
