UC council to meet

The Union City city council will meet Tuesday evening at 5:30 in the courtroom of the Union City Municipal Building for the regular monthly meeting.
The agenda includes an approval of minutes from the May 17 meeting, a second and final reading of an ordinance to amend an ordinance by rezoning the Jernigan property on Edwards Street and the portion of the Obion Square Shopping Center from R-2 to B-2; consideration of recommendations for Church Street from a police report; a request for approval of job descriptions for Wastewater Treatment Plant foreman 1 and a plant director; the cancellation of the June 13 orientation meeting; a request from the county regarding properties acquired by them due to non-payment of taxes; authorization for expense completing the abandonment of Well No. 5; authorization to contract with Layne Christensen Co. for completing the abandonment of Well No. 5; consideration of Redflex contract amendment request; a request to schedule a public hearing on a proposed ordinance to establish a reserve fund; approval of auction inventory list for Thursday; rural fire billing information; and consideration of various bills. Visitors will also be recognized for the hearing of grievances and/or complaints.
Public meetings are regularly held the first and third Tuesdays of each month and all sessions are open to the public.
