Several Obion County students have been awarded scholarships for the 2011-12 academic year to attend the University of Tennessee at Martin.
They include:
• Derek Giffin, son of Hoyt and Benita Giffin of Union City. He received the UTM McWhorter Freshman Scholarship/Workship.
• Garrett McDaniel, son of Barry and Rita McDaniel of Union City. He received the Harold Conner Scholarship.
• Tanner Noles, son of Donnie and Fonda Noles of Union City. He received the UTM McWhorter Freshman Scholarship/Workship.
• Raegan Perry, daughter of Tony and LeAnne Perry of South Fulton. She received the Harold Conner Scholarship.
• Danielle Spencer, daughter of Gary and Kayla Spencer of Kenton. She received the Harold Conner Scholarship.
• Erica Sturkie, daughter of David and Kim Sturkie, of Union City. She received the UTM McWhorter Fresh-man Scholarship/Workship.
All of the scholarship recipients will be freshmen at UT Martin.
