Lighting the flames of hope at Weakley West Relay

LIGHTING THE WAY FOR HOPE – One of the most emotional events during a Relay For Life marathon is the luminaria ceremony. Each participant is asked to light a candle in honor of or in memory of those who have fought the battle against cancer and survived and those who have lost the battle. Those with a candle are then asked to keep the flame lit as they walk the trail lined with luminaries that have been purchased in tribute to people affected by cancer. The Weakley West Relay For Life event held Friday evening at the Graham-Hardy Stadium held true to the scheduled luminaria ceremony as guests used torches to light their candles – their symbols of hope.
