UTM’s Jones, Harper
tabbed in preseason

University of Tennes-see at Martin seniors Kenny Jones and Kendal Harper were named to the 2011 Preseason All-Ohio Valley Conference football team Monday.
Jones was named to the league’s first team as a tight-end, while Harper was named a second team defensive back.
A Knoxville native, Jones had a career-best 16 receptions for 248 yards in 2010, averaging 15.5 yards per catch.
For his career, he has recorded 37 receptions for 527 yards and five touchdowns.
An All-OVC second teamer in 2010, Harper tallied 42 tackles (29 solo), including two for a loss of nine yards.
The Trenton native registered three of the team’s eight interceptions in 2010, while also breaking up six passes and recovering two fumbles. He has made 98 tackles and recovered a pair of fumbles in his career.

Dresden youth league
has soccer signups

Registration is under way for all Weakley County youths interested in signing up for the Dresden Youth Soccer League.
Children ages 4-16 are eligible to participate, and entry fee is $25 per child until Saturday. Sign up forms can be found at www.dresdensoccer.com.
Additionally, there will be an informative clinic for DYSL players Saturday from 9 a.m. until 11 at the Dresden Middle School field.
Players should bring their cleats, shin guards and a soccer ball.
Registration forms will also be available for the coming season will also be available at the clinic.
