Haag tops Westview
in 3-way golf match
Westview’s Houston Haag shot a 37, one stroke off the medalist, in high school action Thursday at the Fulton Country Club.
Host South Fulton won the three-way boys’ match with a 158, while Westview and Trenton Peabody tied with a 190.
Jordan Long finished at 48, Barrett Belote had a 50 and Conner Simpson had a 55 for the Chargers. In addition, Dylan Schwahn finished the round at 59 for Westview.
Chase Mayfield of South Fulton was the medalist at 36, while Ethan Temple topped the Golden Tide with a round of 40.
UTM selling tickets
for Mississippi State
Tickets for The University of Tennessee at Martin’s football game at Mississippi State on Nov. 5 are now on sale.
The tickets, available at the Skyhawk Ticket Office in the Kathleen and Tom Elam Center, are $30 each.
UT Martin season football tickets are also on sale now at the Skyhawk Ticket Office.
The Skyhawks will host five home games at Hardy M. Graham Stadium. The home opener is set for Thursday, Sept. 15. against Union (Ky.) College with kickoff at 6 p.m. The Skyhawks will host Murray State on Sept. 22 with kickoff set for 6 p.m. The Skyhawks will host Ohio Valley Conference rival Tennessee Tech Saturday, Oct. 1. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. Homecoming is set for Saturday, Oct. 8, when the Skyhawks host in-state rival Austin Peay. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.
Season ticket prices start as low as $45 for general admission. Bench back seats are $70 each and chair seats are $83. Individual game tickets are $18 for chair seats and $16 for bench back seats. General admission tickets are $10 each while student general admission tickets are $5 each.

PPK part of agenda
for Soybean Festival
The Martin Parks & Recreation Department, in conjunction with the 18th annual Soybean Festival, will host a local competition for NFL Pepsi Punt, Pass & Kick 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 11, at the Martin Recreation Complex.
The competition is free and open to boys and girls ages 6-to-15, with five separate age groups in each division.
Participants must supply a copy of their birth certificate and wear soft sole tennis shoes for the competition.
