OC Sliders Club
schedules meeting
The Obion Central Rebel Sliders Baseball Club will meet Sunday at 2 in the Hillcrest Elementary School cafeteria.
The purpose of the meeting is to elect new officers and discus fundraising for the upcoming year.
Interested parents of all players are uged to attend the meeting.

‘Pop’ event decided
by scorecard playoff
Poplar Meadows Country Club had its weekly scramble Wednesday with the winning team shooting 9-under par.
The winning team, in a scorecard playoff, included Don Lyerly, John Hale, Tom Elam, Houston Haag and Mike Revell.
Finishing in second was the team of Matt Russell, Robert Huffstutter, Bobby Russell, Bruce Culver, Jere Baldridge and Rick Smith.
The scramble, which is held each Wednesday, is $10 for members and $15 for non-members and includes dinner.
Participants are asked to call 885-3650 by 3 p.m. each Wednesday to sign up.
Hickman Country Club
schedules tournament
The annual Roses and Thorns mixed golf scramble at Hickman Country Club is set for Sept. 10-11.
The entry fee is $100 per-team.

Year of free golf
on tourney prize list
There is an extra incentive to play in the annual Ed Lannom Jr. Memorial Golf Tournament, hosted by Dyersburg State Community College, as all who register to play and pay by 3 p.m. on Wednesday will have a chance to win a year of free golf at the Dyersburg Municipal Golf Course.
In addition, DSCC will award the College Cup to the tournament’s winning team. In 2010 Lauderdale County Bank took the honor, and the crystal trophy has been on display in the bank for the past year.
The tournament will be held at the Dyersburg Municipal Golf Course on Friday, Aug. 26.
Lunch is included in the registration cost and service will begin at 11:30 a.m.
Tournament play will begin at 1 p.m., and cash prizes will be awarded to first, second and third place teams in two flights.
Registration forms for the tournament are available at the golf course.
