UC has medalists;
Lady Rebs get win

Union City had the medalist and Obion Central had the win in girls’ high school golf action at Wingfoot Golf Course on Thursday afternoon.
UC’s Josh McManus tied for medalist honors in boys’ play.
Mollie Stone shot a 38 to top the girls’ field, while the Lady Rebels’ top two players bettered UC by three strokes.
Ashlyn Runions fired a 53, and Samantha Wallace shot a 54 to produce OC’s team total. Behind Stone, Cailee Sinclair shot a 72 for the Lady Tornadoes.
McManus’ 39 tied with Trenton Peabody’s top player on the afternoon with Peabody winning a closely-contested three-way match.
Trenton totaled a 185, followed by Obion Central at 189 and Union City with a 190.
Grant Walton had a 44, Chase Treece shot a 53 and Christian Cousar finished with a 54 for Union City. Wesley Hale shot a 49 but did not figure in the total for the Golden Tornadoes.
Cameron Green led Central with a 43, Ryan Middlebrook totaled a 47, Korben Hagan shot a 49 and Austin Rudd completed his round with a 50.
Union City and Obion Central will meet again Monday at Wingfoot.

Red Devil duo share
low score honors

Hunter Hutchins and Chase Mayfield shared medalist honors for South Fulton in the Devils’ 167-220 high school golf triumph over Greenfield Thursday at the Fulton Country Club.
Both Hutchins and Mayfield carded 39s.
David Kent Brundige shot a 42 and Easten Woolf came in with a 47 for the Redmen.
Haley Rawls shot a 38 for Greenfield as the Lady ’Jackets won the girls’ competition 88-96.
Sydney Easterwood and Sierra Coley each registered 48s for the Devilettes.
South Fulton will play in the Ballard County Invitational on Saturday.
 
Hicks’ hat trick
falls short for OC

Three goals by Paige Hicks wasn’t enough to keep Obion Central from dropping a 5-3 soccer decision at Crockett County on Thursday.
The Lady Rebels trailed 5-2 at the intermission.
Taylor Baker had 10 saves in goal for OC.
Obion Central (0-1-1) plays its first home game Monday against Gibson County.

Ladies’ weekly event
played at Hickman

The foursome of LeAnn Gantt, Evelyn Whitten, Sandra Cobb and Carole Lattus combined to shoot 3-under-par and win the Hickman Country Club’s Ladies League outing on Thursday.
The team of Tina Powell, Joyce Bell, JoLynn Gibson and Cyndy Terrett finished a shot back and in second place with a 2-under-par total.
Dino Nerren was the closest to the pin.
The ladies play every Thursday evening at 5:30 at the Hickman course.

Soybean golf tourney
