SF boosters to stage
annual golf scramble

The South Fulton High School Booster Club will sponsor its annual four-person golf scramble Sept. 24.
The event will be held at Fulton Country Club and is set to tee-off at 9 a.m.
Cost to enter the event is $200 per team or $50 per person. Businesses or persons may sponsor a hole for $50.
Lunch will be served and door prizes will be given away.

Weekly ‘Pop’ winners
finish at 7-under

Poplar Meadows Country Club had its weekly scramble Wednes-day with the winning team shooting 7-under par.
The winning team, in a scorecard playoff, included Matt Russell, Robert Huffstutter, Bruce Culver, Rick Smith and Jere Baldridge.
Also shooting 7-under par was the team of Don Lyerly, John Hale, Rob Jordan, Eli Jordan, Andrew Blair, Hayden Blair, Rob Terrell and Conner Terrell; and the team of Rodger Tanner, Bart White, Bedford Dun-avant and Wynn Burnett.
The scramble, which is held each Wednesday, is $10 for members and $15 for non-members and includes dinner.
Participants are asked to call 885-3650 by 3 p.m. each Wednesday to sign up.

Scorecard playoff
ends women’s event

A scorecard playoff was necessary to determine the winner of the weekly women’s golf scramble at the Wingfoot Golf Course on Tuesday.
After the pencil came into play, the foursome of Janis Garrigan, Dino Nerren, Evelyn Whitten and Tina Powell was declared the winners. The group shot a 3-under-par score.
Finishing with the same total but relegated to runnerup was the team of Tammy McIntosh, Donna Dunn and Joyce Bell.
Wingfoot Golf Course hosts the weekly ladies league outing every Tuesday.

UT pays Montana
$500,000 for trip

MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) — The University of Montana football team has a $500,000 guarantee for its game Saturday at Tennessee.
Athletic director Jim O’Day tells the Missoulian the school should clear about $350,000 after expenses, about the same amount as it would for a home game.
