Union City police are investigating the apparent theft of money from a Mexican grocery store on East Main Street.
Police responded about 2:36 p.m. Wednesday to La Michoacana Mexican Grocery Store at 1207 East Main St., where employee Humberto Tomas reported the theft.
According to a Union City Police Department report, Tomas told police a group of eight to 10 people — most of whom, he claimed, “looked to be Muslim” — came into the store, distracted a female store worker and then took money from a drawer behind the counter.
