Falcons take pair
over Hillcrest

Hillcrest came out on the short end in middle school basketball play against Lake County Saturday, dropping the opener 38-20, and the boys’ game 50-31.
Courtney Heuck had 11 points for the Lady Cougars, who fell to 3-10. Hillcrest managed just six first-half points and trailed 18-6 at the intermission.
In Game 2, Cain Aaron and Hunter Brown tallied nine points apiece for H’crest (4-9).
The Cougars were within 32-25 heading into the fourth quarter before LC put the game away.

Martin in hoops

Tonight’s Lake Road-Martin middle school basketball game has been moved to Lake Road from Martin.
The B-boys’ contest will start at 5 p.m., with the girls’ varsity matchup to follow.
The A-boys’ game will conclude action between the two teams.
