A construction company working in a vacant lot in downtown Greenfield earlier this year that collapsed and killed a worker, has been fined by the state.
According to the Tennessee Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Arnco, a construction company out of Trenton, was fined almost $11,000. The fine was levied April 5 against the company.
The company was working in a vacant lot adjacent to Legend’s Little Italy pizzeria in downtown Greenfield Jan. 23, when the restaurant collapsed and buried 32-year-old Renardo Jackson in the rubble.
Jackson died as a result. A second worker, Kevin Davis, was also injured at the scene. Emergency responders from across the county spent hours that day attempting to recover Jackson’s body from nearly six feet of debris that day.
Arnco was fined by TOSHA for allegedly not taking adequate worker safety precautions that day.
