’Jackets join field
for Pioneer jamboree

Greenfield will part of the Gibson County football jamboree on Friday night, an event that will host prep and junior high action at Yates Field.
Play begins at 6 p.m. for the jamboree, sponsored by the Pioneer Football QB Club, GCHS and Sports Orthopedics and Spine.
Joining Greenfield’s prep team will be Three Oaks Middle School, Fulton City High School and both the middle school and high school teams from Gibson County.
The format will be different from most of the area jamborees as each session will have the teams staying on either offense or defense with a 12-minute running clock.
The teams will be able to work on one phase of their game for an extended period of time.
The three high school teams will rotate play. Each offense will compete against the other two defenses, and each defense will compete against the other two offenses.
There will be breaks in the action that will include some punt, pass and kick competition; and fastest back, lineman, and cheerleader 40-yard races.
Advance tickets will be on sale at the schools participating and at the gate that night.

Belote again aces

Barrett Belote must like No. 17 at Persimmon Hills Golf Course.
Belote aced that hole on the Sharon course for the second time in less than a year when he fired a hole-in-one on Friday.
He used a 4-iron on the par-3, 165-yard hole.

UTM now selling
season, Tiger tickets

Tickets for UT Martin’s 2012 regular season-opening football game at Memphis, against the host Tigers, on Sept. 1 are on sale now at the Skyhawk Ticket Office.
Tickets are $30 each and will be on sale until Aug. 23. For more information call the Skyhawk Ticket Office at 731-881-7207.
UT Martin season tickets are also on sale now.
Chair seats are $83 each, while bench back seats are $70 each and general admission is $45.
The Skyhawks will host five games: Sept. 13 vs. Southeastern Louisiana; Sept. 29 vs. Eastern Kentucky; Oct. 6 vs. Eastern Illinois; Nov. 3 vs. Jacksonville State and Nov. 17 vs. Tennessee State.
General admission tickets for adults are $10 per game, while reserved seats are $16 and chair back seats are $18 each.

Martin Methodist
has new media rep

PULASKI — Martin Methodist director of athletics Jeff Bain has hired Wade Neely as the new director of athletic communications.
A graduate of Giles County High School and a Middle Tennessee State graduate with a degree in Electronic Media Journalism, Neely officially joined the RedHawks on Wednesday..
He leaves WJZM Radio in Clarksville, where he produced and co-hosted a daily sports talk show.
Prior to WJZM, Neely served as the Sports Director of WKSR in Pulaski and worked part-time as the director of radio broadcasting for RedHawk athletics.
