UC selling tickets
for H’don jamboree

Tickets for the Huntingdon Quarterback Club Jamboree are on sale at Union City High School.
The Golden Tornado football team will be one of eight participants in the annual event, facing West Carroll in the last of four two-quarter matchups at Paul Ward Stadium Friday.
Host Huntingdon will face Lake County, Crockett County battles McKenzie, Perry County squares off with Bructon and then UC and WC meet in the event that is set to begin at 7 p.m.
Tickets are $5 and all those sold at the school will benefit UCHS.

Jr. Tornado league
signing up players

The Union City Junior Tornado Football League will sign up players 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at the high school football field house.
The league is open to players in grades 2-6. Second grade will play flag football, while 3-6 will play tackle football.
There will be a registration fee.

Southlane will have
two bowling leagues

Two bowling leagues are forming and will be held at Southlane Bowling in Union City.
A meeting for the Monday Night Men’s League is slated for Monday, and action will begin on Aug. 20.
The Wednesday Night Mixed League begins Aug. 22 with a meeting at 6:30 p.m. and league play to follow at 7.

‘Zombies’ 5K, 1K
slated for Martin

The Run With Zombies 5K and 1K kids run is scheduled for 9 a.m. Oct. 6  at the Martin Recreation Complex.
All proceeds will go to the Alzheimer’s Association in honor of past UT Martin women’s basketball player and Tennessee head coach Pat Summitt.
Registration will be at 8 a.m., followed by the zombie run/walk at 9. The mini monster 1K will follow the 5K.
Entry fees for the 5K are $15 before Sept. 21 and $20 after that date, while the mini monster fees are $8 and $12 before and after Sept. 21, respectively.
There are $50 silver sponsorships and $100 gold sponsorships as well as advertisement and age division sponsorships available.
The event will be conducted by Behavioral Healthcare Center and local healthcare providers.

Wynridge winners
come out even

Even par was the winning score at the weekly Wynridge Ladies Scramble on Tuesday.
Cathy Barker, Charlotte Hall, Beverly Yates and Jackie Russell won the event.
Finishing two strokes back in second place was the foursome of Sandra Davis, Rana Buchanan, Janice Hannah and Jacque Lethcoe.
The ladies scramble every Tuesday at the Troy course.
