Special service slated
Family and Friends Day will be observed Aug. 19 at Hwy. 45 Church of Christ in South Fulton. The speaker for the occasion will be George Coleman, formerly of Newbern.
A luncheon will be served following morning worship services. Thomas Todd is minister to the congregation. The community is invited to attend.
First Lady Day slated
Members of the Church of Jesus for All at 817 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in Union City are inviting the community to prepare for the congregation’s First Lady Day. On Sunday at 3 p.m., there will be a pre-First Lady Day program honoring First Lady Mai Hayes. First Lady Cynthia Webb and the congregation from Brooks Chapel Ministries in Fulton will be special guests at that service, with Mrs. Webb as the speaker. On Aug. 19, the anniversary celebration date, First Lady Jennifer Williams of Progressive Baptist Church in Martin will speak at 3 p.m. She will be joined by the congregation of her home church.
A meal will be served after the morning service on Aug. 19.
The community is invited to attend.

Song service planned
Second Baptist Church sanctuary choir is presenting “Songs That Changed the Church II” Sunday night at 6 at 831 Everett Blvd. in Union City.
The community is invited to take part in the night of praise and worship.
The Rev. Eddie Mallonee is pastor and Barry Keathley is music director.
Hawkins to preach
Superintendent Milton Hawkins will be featured at a special empowering church service Aug. 16 at 7 p.m. at Faith Temple Church of God in Christ at 519 Calhoun St. in Humboldt. Accompanying Hawkins will be the congregation of Temple of Deliverance Cathedral of Bountiful Blessings COGIC in Memphis. Bishop G.E. Patterson is the founder.
The public is invited to attend, according to the pastor, Harry Barnes of Union City.
