The Union City School System has announced the following lunch menus for the week of Sept. 3-7: Union City High School Monday, Sept. 3 — Labor Day holiday. Tuesday, Sept. 4 — Beef taco or tuna salad with whole grain tortilla, fresh taco salad cup, pinto beans, fresh orange, canned applesauce and low-fat milk and skim milk. Wednesday, Sept. 5 — Baked beef patty with cornbread or turkey bologna and cheese with whole grain bread, steamed cabbage, Great Northern beans, fresh pear, canned pineapple and low-fat milk and skim milk. Thursday, Sept. 6 — Baked chicken patty with whole grain bun or crispito, baked sweet potato bites, steamed broccoli, fresh sandwich salad cup, fresh orange, canned pears and low-fat milk and skim milk. Friday, Sept. 7 — Cheeseburger with whole grain bun or whole grain corndog, French fries, fresh sandwich salad cup, fresh banana, canned mandarin oranges and low-fat milk and skim milk. Note: Union City High School offers fresh salad bar options daily. Union City Middle School Monday, Sept. 3 — Labor Day holiday. Tuesday, Sept. 4 — Whole grain Pop Tart or cereal with whole grain cinnamon toast and low-fat chocolate milk, white milk or juice. Wednesday, Sept. 5 — Sausage with whole grain biscuit or whole grain cereal with graham cracker and low-fat chocolate milk, white milk or juice. Thursday, Sept. 6 — French toast with syrup or whole grain cereal with whole grain cheese toast and low-fat chocolate milk, white milk or juice. Friday, Sept. 7 — Breakfast pizza or cereal with whole grain toast and jelly and low-fat chocolate milk, white milk or juice. Note: Free breakfast is offered daily to every SFES student. Lunch Monday, Sept. 3 — No school; Labor Day. Tuesday, Sept. 4 — Whole grain pepperoni pizza or tuna sandwich with whole wheat bread, tossed romaine salad, carrot sticks, fat-free dressing, apple half, sliced peaches and low-fat chocolate milk, white milk or juice. Wednesday, Sept. 5 — Chicken nuggets or country fried steak, whole grain roll, green beans, mashed potatoes, pineapple tidbits, applesauce and low-fat chocolate milk, white milk or juice. Thursday, Sept. 6 — Baked ham or turkey roast with gravy, whole grain roll, purple hull peas, sweet potatoes, mixed fruit, fresh grapes and low-fat chocolate milk, white milk or juice. Friday, Sept. 7 — Hot dog with whole wheat bun or hamburger with whole wheat bun, baked beans, trimming cup with half-cup romaine and quarter-cup sliced tomatoes, fresh cantaloupe, banana and low-fat chocolate milk, white milk or juice.
