The Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity at the University of Tennessee at Martin recently participated in the AGR National Conference.
Matt French, Drew Denton and Taylor Dill were chosen as representatives who attended the AGR National Conference. The national conference is held every other year and the location changes each time. This year the conference was held in Burlington, Vt., along Lake Champlain. They were accompanied by advisor Marvin Flatt, alumni vice president Chad Bradshaw and house mother Jerrie Conley.
“The chapter chooses to send brothers to the conference to represent the chapter on a national level, exchange ideas with other chapters, learn lifelong skills and make connections throughout the country,” Flatt said.
During their time in Burlington, they met with sponsors of the convention such as Bunge, ADM, Monsanto, Cargill, Farm Credit, Dupont Pioneer and Dow AgroSciences. Also, they attended many helpful sessions and an awards ceremony in which the Alpha Upsilon chapter at the University of Tennessee at Martin received the status of Gold Chapter.
“We truly have a unique opportunity where we are a part of a social and professional fraternity in Alpha Gamma Rho but also members of one of its best chapters in the nation right here at the University of Tennessee at Martin. I was glad to have the opportunity to represent my school and fraternity at the national level,” French said.
