TRANSFORMED TRACTOR — Hornbeak resident James Brown recently showed off his model A John Deere tractor, which he made from an old sewing machine. Brown, a Goodyear retiree, said he also farms and after seeing a similar tractor made from a sewing machine, he decided to tackle the project. He said it took him about a month to convert the sewing machine into a tractor. Brown also has a vintage 1907 John Deere manual to go along with his model tractor. Brown said he enjoys working with metal as a hobby and has also created such novelty items as a dog, frog, butterfly, ant, yard chicken and rooster.
