Amid the muddy conditions, 6-year-old Aubree Gore of Fulton was slightly ahead of the competition early Wednesday evening and reached to grab one of two greasy pigs during the Banana Festival’s annual greased pig contest in downtown Fulton. She and her twin sister, Anna, were among the many competitors in one of the younger age divisions. The pig contest was followed by Faith & Family Night activities at the city’s downtown Pontotoc Park. The Twin Cities’ Banana Festival kicked into high gear this week and will continue through Saturday night with events in Fulton and South Fulton. Tonight’s activities include a bean supper, carnival, kiddie parade, ping pong action and talent contest. A full schedule of events can be found online at www.thebananafestival.com.
