Union City on list for Bridges award Union City High School has been selected as an A.F. Bridges Divisional Finalist for its efforts to promote sportsmanship and citizenship during the 2011-12 school year. UC is one of nine schools in its classification (A) and one of 27 TSSAA members schools selected as a finalist. As a finalist, Union City is also in consideration for the A.F. Bridges Award of Excellence to be presented at the regional meeting. The awards are named after A.F. Bridges, the first executive secretary of the TSSAA, and are based on his four cornerstones on which the athletic association was established — ethics, integrity, sportsmanship and citizenship. Those ideals are the focus of the TSSAA’s “Just Do What’s Right!” program. Devils plan pep rally for Tornadoes’ game South Fulton High School will host a community-wide pep rally and bonfire Thursday night in preparation for its football game at Union City on Friday.
